Nice backpack. A bit larger than necessary for elementary school but worth it to get a nice mesh bag. The electric purple is basicly blue with a subtle purple tint. You'll need a large plastic storage bag to keep inside for rainy days, otherwise papers get wet.

My daughter attends a school that only allows clear or mesh style backpacks and I know from previous experience that the clear plastic ones do not last long. This year I did my research and learned that many consumers think JANSPORT is the last word on quality, so I purchased this one! I got the scarlet (red) one and it looks fashionable and sturdy. There is enough room for all the books my daughter will be lugging back and forth to school everyday, and the mesh feels sturdy enough to bear the load. I am happy with the purchase. As usual - Amazon came through for me!

My grandson needed a mesh or clear backpack for school, when he enrolled recently. Being in between school years, no stores were carrying the needed bacpack. Since He is only five, the backpack seems to be holding up very well. He is so into camo, and thanks to you, we were able to fill the school's wishes and his. Thanks again!!JanSport Mesh Pack

My son's school requires either a clear vinyl or mesh backpack. I've tried the vinyl a couple times and they're not very durable. This one is perfect in every way! Size is great and durability is fantastic!! They come in a variety of colors - however, I chose black so dirt doesn't show. I have recommended to several other parents as well as the school. Now the school is recommending to parents as well.

My daughter started middle school this year and a see through backpack was a requirement. I looked all over town for something that looked like it would survive more than a few weeks of wear and tear with large textbooks inside. Finally found this JanSport pack and was ecstatic. My daughter loved the purple color. It's mesh but quite sturdy and well worth the price. It's big enough to hold her notebook and a couple of textbooks which is perfect. Highly recommend this product.
